MJ Painting by Jack Labadie!

Okay sorry for the MJ inspired blogs today but my good friend, Jack Labadie posted the Spike Lee video on my wall and seeing the video reminded me of one of my favorite MJ performances on the 1987 Bad Tour. This painting of MJ captures the essence and energy of the King of Pop. It just seems to be that Jack took a snap shot of Michael during that performance and displayed it over canvas. Be sure to checkout Jacks other pieces at http://www.jacklabart.blogspot.com/.

My Top 10 Albums of the Decade!

These albums are in no particular order (though I believe Kanye West's 'The College Dropout' was the best and most influential album of the decade), but are all in my mind classic. They all defined a period of time for me personally in my life, and helped shape me musically. Hope some of them made your list as well!

My Top Christmas Songs!

Merry Christmas from me to you! God bless you and your families this holiday season!

Check out Jay-Z feat. Mr Hudson "Forever Young Video"

Great track, great video, from a great talent! Big ups to HOVA!

Enjoy!

Banger of the Day!

This song is a very special to me and my family, and always reminds me of the holiday season! Every Christmas Eve me and my family get together before 12 am Christmas Day, and hold hands and sing this song. During the bridge of the song we all say what we were thankful for in the past year and what we are looking forward to in the upcoming year! I hope that everyone enjoys this classic old school jam, and it reminds you how special it is to spend time with the ones you love during the holiday season! These are just a few things that I am thankful for from the year 2009!

1. An amazing and supporting family
2. Great and talented friends who inspire me constantly to be better and dream bigger
3. For working with such great musicians and artist who have forever inspired me musically and personally.
4. For my entire NYC family who continue to amaze me, inspire, and show me that dreams can be a reality.
5. Last but not least, thank you to all the Earthtone fans and supporters who have stuck by us since day one! Cant wait to bring you a new album to kick off a new decade! I love you all with all my heart!

Merry Christmas, Happy New Year, and may great things come to you this new decade!

Banger of the Day!

heard this in the car today on the way home from work and couldnt help but rock out! hope you enjoy!

Viva Las Vegas!!!!

Just came back from an amazing Las Vegas vacation!!! It was my 1st visit back to the desert in 6 years and my 1st over 21 year old! It was great to hangout with Brad, Steve, and Kesha and experience life on the West coast. I was able to meet Kesha's friend Adar Wellington who is an amazing dancer and performer. We got a chance to see one of her final performances in PeepShow at Planet Hollywood and she killed it! Not only is she talented but shes also one of the funniest, beautiful, and inspiring people I have had the pleasure of meeting. I know that she will do great things in the future!

Also while I was out there I had the pleasure of stepping on stage with Holly Madison, star of PeepShow. I was invited on stage and was very blessed to have the opportunity to freestlyle infront of the entire crowd. This definitely was one of the most amazing experiences of my entire my entire life!

Me and the guys also got the opportunity to check out The Beatles Love Show at the Mirage during our stay in Sin City! I recommend this show to anyone!!!! It was a great production that really brought the Beatles greatest hits to life with great dancing and theatrics. I couldnt help but sit there in awe and have amazing ideas about how I would put together an Earthtone show one day. One day someone will make an entire production of the Earthtone catalog!

I want to thank Kesha so much for inviting me and once again being an inspiration to me and the rest of Earthtone!

What are up with these Redskins????

Dude after watching an awful performance I had to make a blog post about this shameful loss to the Giants! This may be the worst year for Washington fans in our lengthy history. A Monday night beat down given by the Giants and a loss to the Detriot Lions just hurts the soul of any Washington fan, but theres always next year! Lets see whats going to happen when Mike Shannihan steps in for Zorn!!!

Snap shots of my life...

Song of the Day 12.14.2009

Checkout the kid Nickelus F. Guys gonna do great things for Richmond and hip-hop, trust me!

The Greatest Richmond Collaboration

Whats goin on everyone?
So today i am writing this post with much excitement. I had the pleasure of performing with Millz, Nickelus F, Wiz, and Curren$y, last saturday and it was great to have the opportunity to share the stage with such talented and down to earth guys. I really had the feeling that these guys who shared that stage that night were going to do some big things in hip hop this upcoming year.

I am very happy to report that a track with Millz, Nickelus F, Brad Ohblivion, and myself will be coming very soon! For me it is going to be a pleasure to work with the best of the best Richmond MCs, but its also great to showcase my hometown of Richmond, Virginia in the best light! I promise we will deliver the greatest Richmond collaboration track of all time!

Song of the Day

Love this guy. Though he made some mistakes he is still one of the most talented artist in music today and this song is proof. Great lyrics, choreography, and doesnt hurt that Cassies in the video. Anyway, its good to see Chris back to doing what he does best.

Song of the Day

Okay so I was sittin' around with my boy Jack Lab and I was telling how I really wanted to make my blog a little more interesting. Something that people could follow everyday to get a taste of my life and interest beyond my shows and recordings. Jack threw out the idea of having a song of the day, and I instantly liked the idea. So everyday(or almost everyday lol) im going to post up a new joint. Just something that i was feelin that day. Word up!

I fucks with my boys, because my boys all got talent lol

Okay while I have been here at VCU I have been very blessed to meet some incredible people. People that have by far changed my life personally and professionally. One of those people would have to be Jack Labadie. Me and Mr. Labadie have been friends for well over a year now, and he has proven to be one of the most talented young painters in the art world.

What I love most about Jack's art is knowing how much music plays a role in his creativity. His awareness of hip-hop culture has allowed him to be recognized as one of the up and coming painters in the Richmond hip hop scene. Jack also plays a huge role in the artistic vision and direction of Earthtone and my solo career. He recently with web designer, Justin Long, a fellow VCU student helped create Earthtone's new myspace and website layout which turned out absolutely amazing!!!

Stay on the lookout for his new website that will be launched in a few short weeks. Until then definitely follow his blog to keep up with all the great things this kid will be doing in the very near future!

Pushing back "The Definition" release date!

Whats up World? Well, as you can see by the pictures Earthtone's adventure to New York City was incredible!!!! A lot of great things are happening with the band and I can't wait to get us back in the studio to record a full album!

With that in mind I am going to push back the release date of the mixtape indefinitely. I really want to make sure that I am giving this Earthtone project my undivided attention, and I cant do that while I am preparing to release a mixtape. I am going to continue to recording more material in the following months for Earthtone and myself, and I promise it will be worth the wait! Thank you all for your support and I cant wait to bring you fresh material!
