Bad news....
So earlier this well I got a phone call from my boy Arnold informing me that Raekwon's management said that we will not be opening up for him this Saturday here in Richmond because his management said that it would be a "conflict of interest" having myself and Nickelus F opening because it was a promo show for his upcoming album and that it should only be focusing on him. Its definitely a let down but I cant stress about it.
Yesterday I met up with my producer Chocolate and he let me hear some new beats that he had been working on over the Summer while I was traveling during Earthtone's hiatus. Let me tell you guys these beats are absolute magic! Thats all that I can honestly say, because words can't express it. If I were Michael Jackson than Chocolate would definitely be my Quincy Jones, so I promise that we will not disappoint you on this mixtape!
The Dollar Menu aka The Unsigned Rappers Delight
Okay so today I walked to the Mickey D's on Broad St to grab a quick bite to eat. I walked up the the register and asked the mickey d's cashier may I please have a Mcdouble and a McChicken? She kindly replied back with that will be $2.22. As I reached into my cargo pants I pulled out a wad of random trash and papers to find 2 one dollar bills! Then I proceeded to find 22 cents. Well, after 30 seconds I was only able to pullout 16 cents and I could only afford one of the sandwiches, and by the look of the picture it should be obvious. The moral of this story is that if you want to make it has a rapper you have to go through the worst most embarrassing being broke stories on the planet but just hang in there. Things will get better...hopefully.
I am making a personal promise to self that if I become successful off this mixtape I will never eat McDonalds ever again!

Opening up for Raekwon!
Hey whats up everyone? So I just found out a few days ago that I am opening up for Wu-Tang artist Raekwon here in Richmond for my very first solo performance! I am very excited to step on stage since it has been since may that I or Earthtone has last performed. Its going to be a very nervous experience not having the rest of the crew on stage but I am nonetheless eager to show the world the new material for the mixtape that I have been working on. The show is next Saturday but I honest forgot the location of the venue but I will definitely keep everyone posted!

Feels good to be back!
Hey Guys! Sorry I havent posted anything in the past few days. Just moved back home so things have been a bit crazy. So while I am back home in Chester I've had a lot of time on my hands. While in New York City I stayed with my best friend Horace's cousin, Dax, who is a very talented author and a very cool guy. While I was there we had deep discussions about music and the state of the music industry. Right before we were living to head back to Virginia he handed me a copy of his book, The Underdogs Manifesto.
The book is about an independent rap artist based out of NYC by the name of Creature. It talks about pushing your music on the independent level and things artist should do to get their music heard. I really enjoyed this book a lot and I recommend this to anyone who has aspirations to do something with their music. It movitated me and gave me many ideas on how to evolve my career and I think it will definitely do the same for you.
While at home I've been doing a lot of writing. If you have ever lived in Chester, VA or been there you must know that theres not a damn thing to do but get focused lol. Essentially its pretty country. I am meeting up with Brad O Friday afternoon and I am looking to do some recording as well. Also, I am working with my friend Duy this weekend as well to produce a hot music video.

We all shine on...
Of course one of my first spots that I had to visit as soon as I got to New York was Strawberry Fields in Central Park. I thought it was cool that this mosaic was directly across the street from the Dakota Building where John Lennon was killed. I was actually surprised at how small it was. It always seems bigger in pictures. Me, Josh and Horace walked there and stood in the same spot where Lennon was murdured. Rest in peace my man...
Just got back in Richmond from NYC
So I just got back to Richmond after an amazing few days in the Big Apple. The 1st night I got there I got wayyyy too drunk lol. The bar we went to had a happy hour that last from 2-8 pm so as you can see I took full advantage of that. This picture here is of me passed out on the streets of Jersey City. I wrote a few songs while I was up there as well that I am looking to record this week or next week. One is called "Higher" and other is called "We Doin' It". I was heavily inspried by Nas walking through the streets of Brooklyn and thats where I got the inspiration for "Higher".
I really think that you all will really appreciate it.

Check out J. Cole
Okay so back in March Earthtone opened up for Wale at the National in Richmond, Va and I had the pleasure of meeting this very talented rapper by the name of J. Cole. At the time I hadnt heard any of his stuff and he performed directly after us. We talked backstage about him living in NYC and finishing up school. At the time he had just signed to Jay-Z's new label Roc-Nation. He also mentioned that he was from Fayetteville, NC where I have family and where VCU's star basketball player, Eric Maynor, is from. His mixtape, The Warm Up, just came out and let me tell you...if this guy is the future of hip-hop then we are in very good hands. Everyone check him out and download that mixtape!
Chris Breezy is back!
My friend who was at the Lil Wayne show last night in VA Beach just told me that Chris Brown came out and did a Michael Jackson tribute. I dont care what you think about Chris, you cant deny this guy is a total beast! Check it out!

*New Track- "It's Going Down"
'The Definition of Me'
Hey guys!
So first I want to say thank you very much for following my blog. Hopefully through the blog I will be able to keep you all posted on my life and musical progress. As you may know I am in the bands Earthtone and Score One for the Little Guy, but this summer I started work my solo album entitled, The Definition of Me.
The mixtape will have production by Brad Oblivion and Devonne 'Chocolate' Harris. I want the mixtape to display the different projects and musical styles. Its going to feature songs from my solo efforts, Score One, and Earthtone with guest featured spots with the members of Earthtone as well. Essentially I want it to show my range as an artist and the different projects I am involved in as well! I really hope this will put Richmond hip-hop on the map!
I will promise to keep you all posted with new songs from the mixtape, interviews, and whats going on in my life so stay tuned...
