Jam of the Day!

This is the absolute most terrible awful music ive ever heard! It was so bad that I had to make it the jam of the day to share with the world lol. Enjoy!

Weekend at VA Tech and The Definition update!

Whats going on guys?!?!
Its been forever since ive last posted I know! I have to start getting better with keeping up with the blog for sure! Right now I am in Blacksburg, VA hanging out at Virgnia Tech! As you can imagine I am exhausted already from all of the drinking and non-stop partying but I am having a blast! I got a call from my boy Garrett at the last minute and I couldnt have made a better decision! Once I got down here I met up with my friend Charisse and were about to tear Blacksburg up my last night here! I am hoping that we will be able to play a show here at VA Tech in the near future!

Some great things have been going on with music these past few weeks. I finally have the started recording on The Definition EP and I am overly pleased with the new songs! I have a feature with my Earthtones mates, Brad Doggett and Steve Boone and I am very excited to share these songs with you in the next few weeks! With the new songs I have been been brainstorming a lot of new ideas, so the mixtape trailer will be canned and I am going to come with a fresh new start!

I gotta get outta here and party it up but be safe and pray I dont get snowed in here in Blacksburg!

Much love

Corey

This is one of my favorite songs from my best friend and bandmate, Brad Doggett. Truly inspiring and I hope it inspires you as well! I am happy that not only will this song be on Brad's new EP, but there will be an "I Will" remix on the Earthtone album this Spring! Check it out!

JAM of the Day!

Love this joint!

'The Definition EP' Due March 2010

Whats up World? Well, it was my intent to complete the Earthtone album before my own but due to studio scheduling conflicts with the band I am using the studio dates in early February to start work on my 1st solo material. I at the moment have about 5 songs out of 9 completed. I'm going to go back home in Chester here in the next few weeks and really spend a lot of time writing and completing the rest of the album. Its going to be 9-10 songs with a few Score One for the Little Guy tracks as well. Be on the lookout very soon!

Yesterday me and the band got up and had one of the best rehearsals ever. We had been practicing in the VCU music building but it wasnt the kind of environment where you really feel creative and can let your hair down, Our recent space is so much better an allowed us to be 100% free and to play as loud as we want.

The new ET songs that I am most excited about are called "Duet" and "Reach for the Sky". With both these songs I had the pleasure of collaborating with ET's lead guitarist, Steve Boone, and they are spectacular. The show on the 25th in the VCU Commons Ballroom is going to be our 1st time rockin' out and performing them so come check it out!

Gotta hit the road but ill be sure to do another update real soon!

JAM of the Day!

I am a very big fan of this artist. Blu is definitely one of the bright and up and coming stars in hip hop. Hope you enjoy this song and video as much as I do!

Studio dates pushed back!

Whats goin on y'all? Well, these past few days not too much has been going on with me but I just wanted to keep you posted nonetheless. As far as Earthtone is concerned were making some progress as far as the album. We were scheduled to be in the studio February 6th and 7th to start work on the new album, but due to scheduling conflicts I was forced to push back the dates to mid-March. I was super disappointed about it because I am so excited to bring the new material to you guys, but it ended up working for the best because now were going to have four straight eight hour days getting the entire album done!

Our good friend and very talented film director, Duy Nguyen, is going to be doing all of our video work and will documenting our studio experience. He is also shooting the music video for "I Love Music" which I am very pumped about, so be on the lookout for that around the time of the album release.

We have a show this month on the 25th at VCU for their homecoming week, so for many this will be the 1st time you have seen the new and improved Earthtone. Please be sure to check us out upstairs in the commons plaza at 1 pm. Me and the guys have been rehearsing hard so it should be a great show.

I gotta get my day started and get on the move now, but I'll be sure to hit you up real soon!

Much love!

Banger of the Day in Memory of Teddy P. You will be missed...

R.I.P. Teddy Pendergrass

last night I got a text from my boy, Jack Labadie, informing me that the great R&B legend Teddy Pendergrass had passed away. My early memories of childhood were filled with memories of singing his songs with my grandparents, and it makes me sad to know that this amazing and timeless voice has been silienced. In 1982 Pendergrass suffered a near fatal car accident that left him paralyzed from the waist down for the remainder of his life. From that day on he dedicated his life to singing and helping those with spinal chord injuries recover any way he could. If you are unfamiliar with his music I hope you all take the time to check him out, because he is truly a legend.

Snap shots of the ending and new beginning of a decade!

Longtime no talk!

Whats up yawl? Been a minute since I hit you guys up on the blog so I just wanted to keep you posted on things! Well, things in the 2010 have been amazing so far. I had an amazing New Years in San Antonio with my best friend Josh and the rest of my NYC crew. I hadnt been to an NBA game since Juan Howard and Chris Webber played for the Wizards, so sitting on the lower leve watching the Spurs play Dwayne Wade was unbelievable

I really feel this year will be a very prosperous year for Earthtone and myself. We are in the studio starting work on our album on February 6th and 7th and I am truly excited. Theres nothing more powerful and fun the hanging out with your best friends and creating something. Me and the guys decided that this album is going to be completely free to the public and will be available on the Earthtone blog as soon as it is completed!

I still haven't forgotten about 'The Definition' mixtape either! I had a few songs ready to record, but i really want to focus on this Earthtone album and making it the greatest album ever!!!!

Love you Guys and I'll definitely hit you up again as soon as I can!

Banger of the Day!

Love this cut. Had the pleasure of opening and meeting Mr. Cole last winter. Great guy and an amazing talent. Just heard this last night and I thought you guys would enjoy it as much as I did!
